High-fives for another Wydowna joining my collection :D I hope we get even more dolls of her in the future!
Time to get back to working on Shairin, my Sasquatch. I added a little ponytail at the back of her head, and I’m starting to figure out exactly what shape I want her mustache to be.
I recently pierced her ears and am working on a Halloween outfit for her (it’s just a sock dress, but it’s spooooooky fun!). Marie is a repainted Ghoulia that I also rerooted. She’s my “mascot” for my icons. I picked the name “humblezombie” because Ghoulia is one of my favorite characters, but I wanted to use one of my original characters for my icons. Since Marie was the only zombie custom I had done at the time… she just kinda became my mascot :)
…yeah, started some new projects. I got a bunch of random doll bodies and these spare heads in combination with that gave me the idea to make some werewolf siblings :)
I’m a bit worried I’m going to run out of stuff to post everyday… I had a few things recently that kept me a bit busy, but mostly it’s because I haven’t been feeling that great lately… I really want to try my best to get back to doing lots of dollstuff though. I really do hope to keep updating everyday.
*some SPOILERS for Freaky Fusion*
I really enjoyed the Freaky Fusion movie. I think it felt more engaging than Frights, Camera, Action (or maybe I was just in a better mood when I watched this one *shrug*).
Neighthan was very likeable. I think him and Frankie were very cute together. I enjoyed Sirena, Bonita, and Avea’s characters as well. The scenes where they taught the hybrids how to control themselves were really entertaining.
It was neat to see Frankie ponder if she’s really alive. A bit deeper than we usually see from Monster High. Frankie’s look at the end was so cool too. It’d be nice if you didn’t have to buy the recharge chamber to get the doll version of it.
I thought Sparky was great. I liked that he had some madness to him, but was, of course, still good at heart. I liked his reasons for trying to create life and his early prototypes.
I thought it was pretty cute how Ghoulia gave herself a makeover while waiting for the door to open again, heh.
Sad that we didn’t get much Abbey, but with so many characters now, we can’t have everyone all the time. I liked her Scareitage bit near the beginning though, heh. Cleo’s was also very amusing. I expected more Jackson in the movie since he got a Save Frankie doll. I didn’t mind his absence though, and I’m glad they didn’t try to shoehorn in some plot with him being jealous of Neighthan or something. Actually it was nice that no one was really jealous of them. They could have easily thrown in something with one of the other fusions having a thing for him, but they didn’t. We were just allowed to enjoy their cute relationship, I liked that :)
Yay, Ginny, my gingerbread doll, is finally all done ^_^ It was fun taking pictures of her, she just looks so happy <3
I painted her face and hair using fabric paint to try and get an “icing” like effect. I made her coat using this pattern from DGRequiem. I did use a pattern for the pants… but I can’t remember which one, oops. I have a couple of pants patterns that are very similar… and I made the pants quite awhile ago…(my apologies to whichever pattern-maker deserves credit, they are very nice-fitting pants!)
I also made her boots, purse, scarf (which is just part of a sock), and mittens. I almost didn’t paint her nails since I knew I’d have her wearing mittens, but I pushed myself to do it anyways. I made her simple little socks too (out of… bigger socks) since if I didn’t, part of her leg would be showing above the boot, and that just seemed wrong for a winter doll.
I’m very happy with how she turned out. I’ll have to take some Christmas photos of her in December :)
